Journaling Update

It’s been a few weeks since I started my journaling journey for what seems like the millionth time. I must say, it’s going super well!

I find myself excited to write in my journal. Sometimes I’m so eager, I pick it up and uncap a pen when I have not a single thought in my brain that I would want to write down. I decorate it with stickers and use my Notebook Therapy stencils to add embellishments. I have discovered my favorite kind of pen is a Micron 02.

Although I haven’t gotten into full blown art journal at this stage, it’s definitely more artsy than many of my previous attempts. I have, however, decided that I actually do like my handwriting. Do other people have a hell of a time reading it? Sure! But that just means no one will be able to understand all the personal thoughts and feelings I’m writing in the journal anyway. Which is definitely a bonus.

As far as long-term benefits go, I think it’s still a bit too recent to really see them. But it’s nice to be able to physically write and exceptionally calming in such a hectic time of year. I hope to expand into more detailed pieces of art, but right now I’m happy plugging away with what feels right.

So often I want to go from being a complete novice to displaying over the top mastery. Not this time. Becoming more competent with journal art will come. I’m not in any rush.

Happy Holidays to you and yours! Until next time, always remember to spice up your life at every given opportunity.
