I wrote Wake Me When It’s Over as a special presentation for the Little River Poetry Festival 2017. Taking the title and vibe from Neon Hitch’s music, my goal was to write 30 poems in 30 days for my 30 minute set. I reached my goal and with a little help from some friends, managed to get the book printed and ready for the festival were it read it as the opening poet.
The chapbook is a snapshot of my life adjusting to a new job, new home, new schedule, and the overwhelming anxiety that everything is actually okay. Poems include musings about mental health, trying to fit in, and surviving trauma.
